Welcome to May’s Viz Corner! This month’s issue includes a new solver page focused specifically on EDEM, and a useful white paper by one of our staff members, Kevin Colburn, on Reducing Design Cycle. This month we also have a special feature titled, ‘Matching Visualization with the Power of HPC’ from our partners at HP.
Let us know how often you use EnSight by visiting our home page and taking the quick poll.
EDEM Solver Page
This new webpage has information on how to read EDEM data into EnSight, client stories related to EnSight and EDEM, images, tutorials and a direct link to CEI's knowledge base of information related to EDEM. Check it out! There will be more solver pages coming in the future. Send an email to the editor to request your specific solver page be created.
Reducing Design Cycle
CEI consults major automotive manufacturer to reduce the design cycle of their new car. A specialized car company needed to design both a production version of their new car, as well as a version of the same car for racing applications. In the past, in order to achieve both of these goals, the manufacturer typically had to design the production version of the car first, and then would back out a racing version. This method of car design results in a long lead-time, and a delay in the use of the race car version to help promote the new car model. To read the full story, click here.
Matching Visualization with the Power of HPC
In scientific and engineering environments, high-performance computing (HPC) can produce vast amounts of data through simulations and modeling. To support innovation, design, research, and business efforts, this data must be analyzed. One of the most effective and easy to use analysis methods is visualization.
